Today we will go over how to create an embedded modifier for online ordering. For all intents and purposes, it is essentially a modifier within a modifier.
Before we begin, there are a few important things to note:
-Embedded modifiers are currently only supported with Focus's online solution, and will NOT work with UberEats or Door Dash integrations
-Any menu item used in these canvases MUST exist on the POS first, otherwise they will not be available to add online
With those out of the way, let's take a look at an example (See below image)
When selecting a House Salad as a side choice for our Hamburger, a dropdown menu appears that shows a selection of dressings. In this case, the Dressings would be the embedded modifier.
1.) Locate the correct Modifier Canvas
On the left hand side of the screen, select Canvases and then find the canvas that the menu item is located under. In this example, it is the 1/3 lb Angus Beef Burgers
From here, select the blue ? button on the right-hand side of the screen to see the Hamburger menu item settings
Navigate to the Modifiers tab, here we can see that the Side Choice canvas is the one we are trying to edit
2.) Add the Modifier Canvas to the Menu Item
Head back to Canvases and use the search bar at the top to locate the Side Choice modifier canvas
From here, select the blue ? button to head into the menu item settings for House Salad
Head over to the Modifiers tab and click the blue + button to add the Dressings modifier canvas. Make sure to tick the Online button and set a minimum/maximum number of selections the customer can make and click Save
