There are 4 main functions to keep in mind when it comes to the activation and use of gift cards. All functions should be located in the "Payments" section of your point of sale system.
Gift Card
This function is used strictly for the redemption of gift cards. To use it, tap on the button while you have the check open, then swipe the gift card to use. It will verify that the card has a balance then reflect the amount on the check. You can also type in a custom amount to only charge the customer partially.
Gift Card Activation
This function is used to activate an unused gift card. To use this function, tap on the button with no check pulled up, enter the amount to be added to the card, and swipe the card. If you get an error saying "gift card is already activated", use the gift card increment function to add value to it.
Gift Card Increment
This function is used to increment value to an already active gift card. To use this function, tap on the button and enter the amount to be added to the card, then swipe the card.
Gift Card Balance
This function is used to check the balance of an already active gift card. To use this function, tap the button and swipe the card. It will give you information about balance, card number, and activation date.
