Focus Local: Currency Setup
Focus makes it easy to set up a Payment that will allow you to accept foreign Currency without any mental math. As you can see in the screenshot below, the British Pounds Payment is converting the balance due from US dollars to British Pounds with just the click of a button. Before setting up the Payment, you must first set up the Currency to be chosen during the Payment setup. This article will demonstrate how to setup a Currency through Focus Local.
Required Job Rights (See Focus Local: Editing Job Rights or Focus Office: Editing Job Rights to see where to adjust Job Rights):
- General
From an Order Entry Station
Step 1: Select the Wrench icon from the login screen
Step 2: Choose the Setup option
Step 3: Enter your access code (fingerprint or manager card option available)
Step 4: Path to Miscellaneous > General > Currencies tab
Note: From Focus's back of house solution, login and follow the steps from here forward.
Step 5: Enter the Currency details > Save & Close
- Name - Recognizable name for the currency.
- Currency Symbol - used to denote that a number is a monetary value, such as the dollar sign "$" or the Pound sign "£".
- Decimal Symbol - Decimal point "0.1" or decimal comma "0,1".

Exchange Rate- The exchange rate used to convert 1 US dollar to the Currency being set up.
Currency Payment Setup
Step 1: Navigate to Order Entry > Payments
Step 2: Add a new Cash Payment to an available slot
- Name the Payment
- Select the Cash Type
- Choose the desired Currency
- Select appropriate Options
- Save & Close
Step 3: Select the green icon pictured below, or path to File > Quit to return to the login screen
