Focus Office: Adding an Employee
Focus Office allows you to update and manage your employee roster anytime and anywhere from the cloud. This article will demonstrate how to add a new employee to a particular location.
NOTE: Employee changes must be made on a store by store basis. Simply complete steps 3-10 for each location.
Step 1: Log into Focus Office

Step 2: Navigate to Employees > Employees
Step 3: Choose the desired location from the site drop down list
Step 4: Select Add Employee in the upper right
Step 5: Input employee details (required fields below) > Add to Collection
Required fields: First & Last Name, Nickname, Access Code, & Job Type in 1st job slot
Recommended fields: Hourly Pay Rate improves labor reporting
Toggle options explained:
Require Card - Toggle on for management team when using manager cards.
Enforce Scheduling - Toggle on to enforce early clock in and late clock out rules when using the scheduling module.
Extend Rights - Toggle on for managers who clock in under other jobs such as server and bartender. Extending rights gives the managerial permissions to that user when clocked in under another job.
Clock In/Out Only - Use to limit a team member to time clock functions only.
Fingerprint at Clock In - Toggle on when requiring team members to clock in using a fingerprint reader.
Fingerprint Required - Toggle on when requiring team members to use a fingerprint to log in or approve manager functions.
Step 6: Create New Collection > Enter name > Save
Step 7: Complete Steps 4-6 to add another employee or skip to Step 9
Step 8: Choose Existing Collection > Click the name of the previously created collection
Step 9: Navigate to Collections > Search for the created collection i.e. "New Employees" > Select & Publish
Clicking on the blue dots will reveal a menu with options to edit, duplicate, delete, or publish a collection.
Step 10: Choose ASAP or Schedule the download for a future date and time > Publish
The collection details will change from pending to complete when the download has been received and the local database is updated.
